Dr. Azam Nekahi is a senior lecturer in electrical power engineering. received the B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran’s Polytechnic) in 2004. She obtained the Master and Ph.D. degrees, respectively in 2007 and 2011 from the Université du Québec; within the NSERC/Hydro-Quebec/UQAC Industrial Chair on Atmospheric Icing of Power Network Equipment (CIGELE).
Since 2012, she has been a faculty member of the School of Computing, Engineering and Built Environment (SCEBE) at Glasgow Caledonian University (UK). She is author and co-author of more than 50 high qualities journal and conference papers. Her main research interests include liquid and solid HV insulation, partial discharge.
Dr. Nekahi is an active member of IEEE-DEIS and IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE). She has served as the liaison between DEIS and WIE Committee since 2012. WIE is the largest international professional organization dedicated to promoting women engineers and scientists.
