The Graduate Program in Science and Mathematics Education intends to qualify researchers in the area of Education (Capes 46 area), in particular, in Science and Mathematics Education, with focus on interdisciplinarity, research as a pedagogical principle, and on innovative teaching practices in basic and higher education.

The Master’s degree has a maximum length of 30 months, and students must defend a thesis; the PhD program has a maximum length of 54 months, and students must defend a dissertation making an original contribution to the area of Education, especially in Science and Mathematics Education.
