Introduction

Lucas Spanemberg is a Brazilian Psychiatrist at Hospital São Lucas da Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (HSL/PUCRS), Assistant Professor at the Neuroscience Training Center of the Medical School at PUCRS, and Medical Residency Preceptor at HSL/PUCRS. Dr. Spanemberg graduated from the Universidade Federal de Ciências da Saúde de Porto Alegre (UFCSPA) in 2004. From 2005-2007 he completed his residency in adult psychiatry at Hospital São Lucas da PUCRS, and from 2007-2008 his Specialization in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy at CELG of Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). From 2010-2014, he completed the PhD program at Postgraduate Program in Psychiatry and Behavior Sciences of UFRGS, where he received a vote of Praise for his thesis titled "Heterogeneity of Depression and Its Relation to Personality." Dr. Spanemberg's research has focused on various areas of depression, including psychopathology, personality and biomarkers, in addition to other researches interested in several aspects of the psychopathology of psychiatric inpatients. HE has authored or co-authored more than 40 original articles, review articles, and book chapters, and has mentored many residents and undergraduate students in their course completion works. Dr. Spanemberg has been attending patients from the HSL / PUCRS Psychiatric Inpatient Unit since 2008, and has worked with a clinical psychiatrist and psychotherapist since 2007 in his private practice.
