Introduction

Dr Fernanda B Morrone has a degree in Pharmacy from the Catholic University of Pelotas, a Master's Degree and a PhD in Biological Sciences (Biochemistry) from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS). Dr Morrone is currently a Productivity Fellow at CNPq, and research/professor at PUCRS, where she teaches the disciplines of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy. She is a member of the Brazilian Society of Therapeutic and Experimental Pharmacology and member of the Brazilian Purines Club. She was Coordinator of the Scientific Committee of the Faculty of Pharmacy, PUCRS, 2010-2012, Coordinator of the Professional Master's Program in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, PUCRS from 2013 to 2015, and Coordinator of the Scientific Initiation Sector of PUCRS from 2015 to 2017. Currently Dr Morrone is a Permanent Professor of the Postgraduate Program in Cellular and Molecular Biology and of the Postgraduate Program in Medicine and Health Sciences. She is a consultant and reviewer of national and international scientific journals and she has worked as consultant for several institutions. Dr Morrone has experience in the field of pharmacology, with special interest in the study of the purinergic system, ATP, purinergic receptors (P1R, P2R, P2X7R, P2YR) and radiotherapy in gliomas, urinary tract tumors, esophageal and breast cancer.
