Introduction

Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (1988), master's degree in Botany from the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (1992) and PhD in Botany in the modality sandwich-CNPq, at the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul and Ohio State University- USA (1997). Currently I am Associated professor at Potifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul. I have experience in Botany, with emphasis on Plant Physiology, working on the following topics: plant tissue culture, micropropagation, genetic manipulation for the study of secondary metabolism in plants. Currently, the main research approach is the interaction between plants and microorganisms, especially rhizobacteria of the genus Streptomyces spp.
