Adriano Moehlecke
Adriano Moehlecke
Introduction
Dr. Adriano Moehlecke received the B. S. degree in physics and the M. S. degree in mechanical engineering from Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre, Brazil, in 1987 and 1991, respectively. In 1996 received the Ph. D. degree in photovoltaic engineering from Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM), Spain. Dr. Moehlecke is currently professor of the School Technology and of the Postgraduate Program in Materials Engineering and Technology (PGETEMA), both of PUCRS. He coordinates, together with Prof. Dr. Izete Zanesco, the Solar Energy Technology Nucleus of the School of Technology of Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS). He published more than 160 research papers in international and national journals and congresses in the field of photovoltaic solar energy. He coordinates several R&D projects with external support in the field of solar cells, photovoltaic modules and photovoltaic systems. The Ph.D. dissertation received a prize from the UPM due to outstanding contributions to the field of silicon solar cell fabrication. In 2002 he received a National Prize (Young Scientist Award) for contributions on cost effective process to produce silicon solar cells. The R&D project entitled "Pilot Plant for the Production of Photovoltaic Modules with National Technology / CB-Solar", coordinated by Prof. Adriano Moehlecke and Prof. Izete Zanesco, was the winner of the II Best Universities Award - 2006, in the category of innovation and sustainability.
