Introduction

I have a degree in Medicine from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (1977), a master's degree in Education from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (1990) and a PhD in Medicine and Health Sciences - Surgical Clinic from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (2005). He is currently a surgeon at Hospital São Lucas da Pucrs and professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul. He has experience in the field of Medicine, with an emphasis on Gastroenterology Surgery, working mainly on the following topics: bariatric surgery, morbid obesity, bariatric surgery , obesity and post-surgery. He has a degree in Bariatric Surgery. Guest professor at Chinese University of Xiangya Hospital Central south University in Oct. from 2019 until Oct. 2024. Head of the China/Brazil Gastrointestinal Surgery Training Center 2023. PQ2 productivity scholarship holder. Brazilian coordinator of the China/Brazil project of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Xianghia University Hospital 2023
