Karine Rech Begnini
Introduction
Karine holds a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from UFPel (2009), followed by a master's degree (2012) and a PhD in Biotechnology (2015) from the same institution, which included a research exchange at the University of Illinois in the United States (2014). Additionally, she completed postdoctoral fellows in Biotechnology (UFPel/2015-2017), and in Cellular and Molecular Biology (UFRGS/ 2018-2022). Currently, she is a researcher at the Brain Institute of Rio Grande do Sul (InsCer-PUCRS), where her work focuses on investigating intracellular signaling pathways of immunological markers and their role in the development and perpetuation of chemotherapy-resistant characteristics in brain tumors. Throughout her academic journey, Karine has specialized in the development of immunotherapies for treating cancer and examining the influence of cell signaling pathways on mechanisms of resistance to tumor therapies. Her areas of expertise and interest encompass cell biology, molecular biology, tumor biology, genetic engineering, immunotherapy, and the mechanisms underlying resistance to therapeutic interventions.
