Introduction
Dr. Fernando M Diz has degree in Biological Science and Biomedical Science from Tiradentes University (UNIT), a Masters Degree in Industrial Biotechnology from UNIT, and a PhD in Materials Engineering and Technology from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS). Fernando M Diz specialized as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Chemistry at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) and at the Polytechnic School of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS). His research is focused on developing devices to enhance conventional cancer therapies, such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy, and studying mechanisms of tumor cell resistance. Additionally, he conducts the synthesis and characterization of nanostructures for the treatment of human glioma. Currently, he works as a researcher at the Brain Institute of Rio Grande do Sul (InsCer), where he leads projects related to the development of radiopharmaceuticals, nano-radiotherapy sensitizers for tumors, and microvesicles as therapeutic carriers.
