In 2021, four researchers joined projects developed at the graduate programs of PUCR
The goal of the Institutional Project of Internationalization (PrInt), is to develop and incorporate international perspectives into the graduate programs of the University. The modality Young Talent with Experience Abroad allows novice researchers to join in PUCRS’ graduate programs to contribute to the internationalization of the University In 2021, four young talents developed academic activities at the institution.
Young Talent with Experience Abroad
The opportunity is for talented young researchers, from Brazil or abroad, who are living overseas, and who have with certified relevant international academic and scientific experience to carry out research or teach. Find out about the projects associated with the priority areas:
Technology and Biodiversity:
Rafael Nolibos Almeida: Graduate Program in Engineering and Materials Technology – Universidade do Porto, Portugal. He spent a year working on the priority area Technology and Biodiversity: Sustainability, Energy and the Environment. School of Technology professor, Dr. Eduardo Cassel, served as his host.
“The exchanges with professors and researchers were of great contribution to my professional development. Doing research on natural products is in line with my research. In this sense, the models developed can be used in the simulation of several processes in the chemical, food and cosmetics industry, helping to predict the behavior and design of volatile products.”
World in Motion
Claudia Maria Guedes Joaquim: Graduate Program in History – University of Granada, Spain. She spent 6 months working on the project World in Motion: Individuals and Society. School of Humanities professor, Dr. Antonio de Ruggiero, served as her host.
“I especially missed conducting fieldwork, talking to people, help them bring out stories and reports that explain our present. It is a given fact that the pandemic was a major limitation to in allowing me to connect with people during the period I was there. But without a doubt, this opportunity at PUCRS brought me back to the field and I couldn’t have made a better contribution to my development at this moment”.
Renata Guadagnin: Graduate Program in Criminal Sciences – Universität Hamburg, Germany. Law School professor, Dr. Augusto Jobim do Amaral, served as her host during the 6 months she spent working on the project World in Motion: Individuals and Society.
Health in Human Development
Alexis Buatois: Graduate Program in Cellular and Molecular Biology – University of Toronto, Canada. He spent 6 months under the project Health in Human Development. School of Health and Life Sciences professor, Dr Carla Denise Bonan, served as his host.
