Professor at the Graduate Program in Philosophy at PUCRS’s School of Humanities, Fabio Caprio de Leite Castro, went to the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KU Leuven), in Belgium, through the PUCRS CAPES-PrInt Program. The faculty member participated in an important international event in the field of phenomenology, titled Husserl-Arbeitstage 2023, organized by the Belgian partner university.

The partnership between PUCRS and KU Leuven has already resulted in several research projects in various fields of knowledge, like the studies on Austrian philosopher Martin Buber carried out by PUCRS professor Alexandre Anselmo. During his work mission, professor Castro also had the opportunity to visit archives and libraries at the Belgian university and present his projects to the faculty members of the research group on the Husserl Archives to discuss joint publication possibilities and student and faculty mobility initiatives.

Regarding the priority theme “World in Motion: Individuals and Society,” PUCRS has a strong relationship with KU Leuven with the project titled “Human Formation.” Castro points out that, in the field of Philosophy, particularly in phenomenology, it is expected that new partnerships will be established, as well as a cooperation network focusing on research on Phenomenology and Hermeneutics and led by the faculty member in collaboration with the PUCRS Graduate Program.
