Business School professor Silvio Tai is at Sophia University, Japan, under the Institutional Project of Internationalization (PUCRS-PrInt). He is doing research into Economics with Professor Masamitsu Kurata, from the Japanese institution. Tai is working under the cooperation project Macro and microeconomic aspects associated with economic, social, human and environmental development, which is coordinated by Dr Edimara Luciano, under the priority area World in Motion: Indivíduos e Sociedade.
PUCRS is partners with the University of Sophia. The partnership is strong in the area of academic mobility. However, this is the first time the centers in Economics of the two institutions have the chance to initiate talks. “We are analyzing research areas for potential collaboration and looking into writing an article together,” the professor says.
The way Tai sees it, double degrees as well as possibilities for exchanges involving students of the Graduate Program in Economics (PPGGE) are under discussion. To sum up, he emphasizes the importance of making connections made during the mission, which can result in partnerships. Tai is expected to stay in Japan until the end of November.
