School of Humanities professor, Dr Alexandre Anselmo Guilherme, paid a visit to the Laboratory for Education and Society of KU Leuven, in Belgium, in support of the Insttutional Project of Internationalization (PUCRS-PrInt). The mission aimed to consolidate the partnership in the area of Philosophy of Education and articulate joint projects involving publications and academic mobility.
During his stay abroad, Guilherme presented PUCRS-PrInt opportunities, especially to professors Joris Vlieghe, Jan Maaschelein and Maarten Simons, who are now planning their visits to PUCRS next year. These are highly acclaimed professors in the area and the laboratory is one of the most respected facilities of this kind in the world in the field of Philosophy of Education.
PUCRS and KU Leuven
The partnership between PUCRS and KU Leuven has been officiated through a cooperation agreement and a number of joint doctoral degrees in the Graduate Program in Education of the School of Humanities. The parties hope that this inter-institutional cooperation keeps getting stronger in order to make it possible for students to have co-advisors in both countries and enable PUCRS’ faculty and students to compelte mobility programs in Belgium.
Human development
Alexandre Guilherme coordinates the cooperation project Human development: knowledges and practices for a world in motion, under the priority area World in Motion: Individuals and Society. The project brings together research that seeks to contribute to the contemporary debate over humanism in its theoretical, conceptual and methodological dimensions.
