PrInt to allow graduate level work with Canada
Agreement between CAPES and MITACS allows for mobility of Brazilian and Canadian students from 12 to 24 weeks
CAPES, the Brazilian Federal Agency for Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education, has signed an agreement with MITACS, a non-profit Canadian organization, to send and receive PhD students from educational institutions from Brazil and Canada. The program is available for institutions participating in the CAPES/PrInt, which PUCRS was awarded since 2018.
PhD students can do a mobility program from 12 to 24 weeks. Every year, 160 vacancies will be available at MITACS’ partner institutions. CAPES/MITACS will also cooperate in awarding financial aid to students: each agency will bear 50% of the students’ total funding. Because of that, PUCRS will start an internal application process. CAPES will issue a final decision on the students selected in the internal application process and those that will be awarded by MITACS.
