The Brazilian government is developing its national quality infrastructure for electric mobility through a partnership between the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul, the Brazilian Government and PCN certification agency. In its first phase, the project includes the design and implementation of the first laboratory in South America fully dedicated to testing electric vehicles.

The project is a direct offshoot of the process of transformation of Inmetro's regulatory model, launched in 2022, which aims to facilitate the development of innovations in the country, whose development strategy includes the modernization of laws and economic freedom.
