The lamps laboratory is accredited for testing compact fluorescent lamps (CFL), fluorescent tube lamps (TL), incandescent lamps (IL) and sodium-vapor lamps (SVL) aimed primarily at manufacturers and importers from the sector. It operates primarily in electrical safety and performance testing.
As a result of market demands, operations in the LABELO lamp laboratory began in September 2003. Since then, the laboratory has received accreditation in testing related to Specific Regulations for the use of National Energy Conservation labeling – ENCE.
As well as the other standards involved in testing, we also obtained accreditation under Inmetro ordinances 483 and 489, which regulate the mandatory testing of Sodium-Vapor Lamps and Compact Fluorescent Lamps for electrical safety and performance requirements. We participate in GT-LUZ – the Inmetro working group for lamps – developing activities that involve the study and application of standards and and compiling RACs – Regulations for the Assessment of Conformities.
