PUCRS becomes part of the institutions associated with IPD Eletron

Institute highlights University capacity to promote research, innovation and entrepreneurship support

The Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS) integrated the select framework of teaching and research institutions associated with Instituto de Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento Tecnológico do Complexo Eletroeletrônico e Tecnologia da Informação (IPD Eletron). The PUCRS offers structure and mechanism to promote the research, innovation and entrepreneurship support that constitutes the INOVAPUCRS network.

The Institute emphasizes that the Scientific and Technological Park (Tecnopuc) has the objective of meeting the industrial demand, through its research, development and innovation (PD&I) laboratories, focused on four main activities areas: information and communication technology, energy and environment; life science and creative industry.

Therefore, PUCRS is accredited to Comitê da Área de TI do Ministério da Ciência, Tecnologia, Inovações e Comunicações (CATI/MCTIC) to receive the PD&I resources of the Informatics Law, through the Laboratório Especializado em Eletroeletrõnica, Calibração and Ensaio (LABELO), School of Sciences and Polytechnic School.

 

What is the IPD Eletron?

The IPD Eletron is a Sectorial Technological Entity, without economic ends, created by the Associação Brasileira da Indústria Elétrica e Eletrônica (ABINEE) with the intention of promoting the development and the technological innovation.

The main objective is to contribute with structured public policies in the areas of science, technology and innovation; stimulate and improve the management of innovation in companies; increase investments in R&D; as well as support in fundraising for innovation to share technological risk.

Currently, the institute has twenty-eight Associated Scientific and Technological Institutions (ICT), which work in several areas of research and innovation.
