The lighting laboratory is accredited to conduct tests on internal, external and emergency lights used in street lighting.

It was created in light of the growing demand for street lighting and has been in operation since 2002, carrying out tests for more than 90% of national and international manufacturers. In a joint project with Finep, it aims to include photometric tests on lighting in 2013.

The laboratory is qualified to run tests under the primary standards ABNT NBR 15129/2004, NBR IEC 60598-1:2010, as well as the IEC norms corresponding to specific lighting. Within this same context, it also performs tests for the Index of Protection (IP) of chambers, projectors, decorative lighting and emergency lighting. We also receive many requests for inspection services from municipal councils throughout Brazil, which are purchase lighting through the “reluz” program.
