Project presentation:
Brazil is favored by the extensive occurrence of sedimentary basins with potential reservoirs for CO2 storage, with the additional advantage of being located close to stationary emission sources. However, there is a lack of information gathered, and in the public domain, on the main aspects involving the Capture, Use and Storage of CO2 (CCUS), in order to enable the prospecting of areas favorable to its development, directing the decision decision-making and driving technology deployment.
In this sense, the project includes the development of an interactive web platform containing the Geographic Information System (GIS) CCUS Brasil. The platform, hosted in the cloud, will be made available free of charge and will have a high impact on accelerating CCUS technologies in Brazil, contributing to the decarbonization of national activities in the industrial sector. The project also covers the development of a new Atlas of CCUS in Brazil, in digital format, intended for the technical-scientific dissemination of the content addressed, highlighting the applied methodology, the data incorporated into the platform, the technical assumptions followed and the results achieved in the project.
