In December 2011, Colégio Marista Rosário was submitted to an environmental performance evaluation undertaken by the Sustainable School team, offering a joint activity with Teachers about vertical gardens, tire flower pots and composters.
Beginning in 2011 and ending in 2012, Colégio Marista Champagnat was submitted to an environmental performance evaluation undertaken by the Sustainable School team and, besides taking up several suggestions to reduce its environmental impact, it jointly offered several activities to students, including a paper recycling workshop, soap production using cooking oil, ecological inks, mosaic, among others. Colégio Marista Champagnat has received the Sustainable School stamp for including procedures to reduce environmental impact in its routine.
In 2013, Colégio Marista Assunção was submitted to an environmental performance evaluation undertaken by the Sustainable School team and offered several joint activities. A workshop was carried out on correct waste disposal for the school staff. Besides, the Sustainable School Team accompanied student visits to the Campo da Tuca Waste Sorting Center and prepared an activity on reducing waste production in the School Scavenger Hunt.
Through FAPERGS’ PICMEL/2014 Call, the Sustainable School Project will develop the Project Sustainable School: Ecological Agriculture, Solar Energy and Rain Water Collection as Educational Elements in the Municipality of Gravataí. This project will offer scholarships for 6 students and 1 professor. The plan is to develop the Ecological Agriculture, Solar Energy and Rain Water Collection axes in order to change relations between classroom, physical space and community.
