The project aims to work actively in communities belonging to the Guaíba basin in order to promote inclusion and awareness among students on problems related to water resources. Key municipalities have been chosen in areas with problems of environmental degradation, where parts of the river are near urban areas, and where there are Marist and Public schools. Schools have been invited to participate in the project, which is entirely voluntary.
Each team received a kit to collect and analyze the quality of river or stream waters near the school, to be monitored for the duration of the project. The following parameters are analyzed:
The coordinating team visited each participating school, training teachers and students to use the analysis kit and interpret results.
Results obtained by the teams will be entered into a database with all analyzed parameters, indicating water quality and environmental degradation in each municipality.
