Graduate Program in Cellular and Molecular Biology

The program is intended to educate and train highly qualified professionals, at the international level, for the development of innovative scientific research and teaching practices as well as human resources formation in different areas of Cellular and Molecular Biology.

Goals

To develop advanced scientific research, in the program’s six lines of research:

(i) Molecular Biology of Drug/Target Interaction;

(ii) Cellular and Molecular Characterization in Microbiology and Parasitology;

(iii) Cell Structure and Metabolism;

(iv) Genetics, Genomics and Bioinformatics;

(v) Cellular and Molecular Immunology;

(vi) Cellular and Molecular Neurobiology.

To produce qualified human resources to develop research in the six lines of the program.

To create new research groups to develop research in these areas, both in Brazil and abroad.

To develop qualified human resources to teach at all levels of education, particularly at undergraduate and graduate levels, and work in any area within the scope of Cellular and Molecular Biology.

To promote, encourage and coordinate actions that materialize in benefits to society, including extension projects in the areas of health and primary education, partnerships with museums and other means of scientific popularization, and development of innovative products and services that can be transferred to industry and/or applied in the technology sector.

Scope

Training of internationally-qualified professionals to develop innovative research and teach in different areas of Cellular and Molecular Biology.
