Here’s the beginning of another semester at PUCRS. We are sure that the second semester of 2019 will be very promising in terms of ​​study, research and extension. We have welcomed the new international students who have chosen PUCRS as a destination for academic mobility. We are also working on PUCRS-PrInt Institutional Project of Internationalization to promote the mobility of faculty and students in our graduate programs to further strengthen our international perspectives. 46 international mobility students were given an official welcome at PUCRS at the Orientation Seminar. They come from the following countries: Germany, Austria, Colombia, South Korea, Spain, France, Italy, Mexico, Portugal and Sweden.

Adult Health in Focus

One of the projects that is embraced by PUCRS-PrInt, an institutional project that was awarded grants in support of Capes’ Institutional Program of Internationalization, Biopsychosocial Aspects Associated with an Individual’s Health in Adult Life, brings together faculty from different areas in connection with researchers from 22 institutions in the following countries: South Africa, Belgium, Canada, China, Spain, USA, Finland, Italy, United Kingdom and Switzerland.

Two years after it opened its doors, Estúdio A, of the Center for Audiovisual Technologies of Rio Grande do Sul (Tecna), headquartered at PUCRS’ Science and Technology Park (Tecnopuc), is home to two Netflix productions: Necrópolis and Alce&Alice. Other productions include commercial and films. |

Indian scholar discusses international politics and global governance
|
From Aug 26-30, PUCRS will be opening its doors to Professor Dattesh Parulekar, from Goa University, in India. He has been invited by the Graduate Program in Philosophy and History to deliver the opening class Changing Contours and Shifting Trajectories in International Politics: Role of India, China and Latin America in the Global Governance, in an effort to understand its scope and depth.

From traditional to digital: Heini Zachariassen’s entrepreneurial vision

Heini Zachariassen, founder of Vivino, the world’s most downloaded wine app, came to PUCRS to teach the course on Digital Mindset and Lean Canvas. The course is in the curriculum of the Certificate program in Digital Transformation and Future of Business, which is offered online.

Visiting Professor of Université Laval takes part in School of Health Sciences activities

The Professor of the Université Laval, Canada, Dr Maximiliano Wilson came to PUCRS as a Visiting Professor under PUCRS-PrInt. During his stay at PUCRS, Dr Wilson is making a contribution to the projects developed by the Research Group Clinical and Educational Neuropsychology, his area of expertise.

PUCRS, Sao Lucas Hospital and BraIns introduce social impact actions
|
|
Over the course of the year 2018, the extension actions promoted by the University, which include health care activities, volunteering sessions, training programs and cultural performances, reached out to more than 830,000 people. 5,700 students were awarded with the institution’s scholarship and financial aid programs in an effort to take advantage of the opportunities for a changing, sympathetic and entrepreneurial education.

PUCRS’ Sports Park is a modern complex for physical activities. Its construction mirrored international standards of quality and excellence, as it employed the most advanced construction techniques. Equipped for the practice of numerous sports, it offers excellent facilities in the multi-sport complex and the sports stadium. It serves the university community and the internal and external audiences, welcoming people of all ages. With a comprehensive infrastructure in terms of space, equipment and support services, the Sports Park hosts many national and international events.
