PUCRS, through the Pastoral and Solidarity Center encourages the university community to perform activities that contribute to human development, seeking a fairer, more fraternal and sustainable world. We rely on the contribution of university students, alumni, faculty and administrative technicians in social projects carried out in several entities in Porto Alegre and the Metropolitan area.
The Program works in the fields of health, education and social assistance, through projects aimed at children, adolescents, adults, families, elders and people with disabilities and families in social vulnerability. The volunteers are monitored in the entities and participate of monthly training meetings aimed at sharing experiences and capacity-building activities at PUCRS.
Registration for Volunteering activities take place from March to December, in person or by phone. After registering, an interview of approximately will be held with the applicant at the Volunteering Nucleus – in the Pastoral and Solidarity Center, building 15.
In this interview, the project is presented to the applicant. The applicant’s profile is identified, and from there, he/she is assisted in choosing the best fit for his/her personality.
The volunteering activity starts after the volunteer and the chosen entity sign the Term of Adhesion. The Term of Adhesion is the document supported by Lei do Voluntariado (Volunteering Act – no. 608/98). It is important to note that the person who wishes to get involved with volunteering must state that he/she does not gain any welfare benefits from INSS or any other type of support provided by law due to removal or inability to work.
Do you want to become a volunteer and have questions on how you could contribute? We can help you!
