With over 45 years of history, PUCRS graduate programs are successful examples of excellence and tradition in Brazilian higher education. Since 1969, the year when PUCRS first two Master’s courses were created, the constant development and updating of courses has been instrumental in maintaining the high levels of quality obtained.
Offering the necessary conditions for the development of education and research, PUCRS has been making significant investments in graduate programs throughout its history. The creation of laboratories in various areas has boosted education and the engagement of faculty and students, improving scientific production and the level of academic and professional training offered at the University. One result of this effort was the recognition obtained by the University with the best overall assessment of graduate programs among private universities in Southern Brazil, according to the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES).
The 46 Master’s and Doctoral programs, covering all major areas of knowledge, benefit from laboratories and research centers that integrate students and researchers. PUCRS offers 24 Master’s programs and 22 Doctoral programs, which provide experience in research projects and prepare students for the future.
In 2018, PUCRS awarded the Call 41/2017 by CAPES with the Institutional Project of Internationalization (PUCRS-PrInt), which aims to develop and integrate the international dimension in Graduation and Research at the University.
PUCRS-PrInt offers the following types of funding opportunities: Work Missions Abroad, Sandwich Doctorate Abroad, Senior and Junior Visiting Professor Abroad, Training in Short Courses or Summer/Winter Schools Abroad, Young Talent with Experience Abroad, Visiting Professor in Brazil and Postdoctoral Researcher with Experience Abroad.
