Professor from Pardee RAND Graduate School joins the Fulbright Chair Program
PUCRS welcomes renowned professor Roland Sturm, from Pardee RAND Graduate School, in the United States, as part of the Fulbright Chair Program. A reference in Economy, using resources from Statistics and Big Data in solutions for health and environmental issues, Sturm was welcomed by the coordinator of the Office for International Cooperation (ECI), Carla Bonan, and by the coordinator of the Graduate Programs’ Internationalization from the Office of the Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies (PROPESQ), Lilian Hubner. During his visit, the professor will participate in various activities, including lectures, seminars and classes, and discussions of interdisciplinary projects with our researchers and students, strengthening the dialogue on the impact of data in economy.
After th
e reception, Sturm attended a guided tour around the campus, getting to know some of the university’s main structures, such as the Irmão José Otão Main Library, Living 360° and schools of Humanities, Medicine and Technology. The professor also visited the Science and Technology Park (Tecnopuc), where he had the opportunity to learn a bout the innovations and projects development in collaboration with the corporate sector.
The Chair Program established between PUCRS and Fulbright aims to bring together American specialists and institutions from all around the world, promoting the exchange of knowledge and the development of skills in various fields. Sturm’s visit reinforces PUCRS’s commitment to internationalization and the search for partnerships that expand the borders of knowledge.
