Book includes most important exponents of epilepsy in the world
Professors of the School of Medicine and heads of the Neurology and Neurosurgery service of the São Lucas Hospital, Dr André Palmini and Dr Eliseu Paglioli Neto, respectively, have written one of the chapters of the book Invasive Studies of the Human Epileptic Brain. The publication brings together the world’s leading experts on epilepsy and will serve as a reference on the location of the epileptic focus for the coming decade.
In the chapter The irritative zone and seizure onset zone in acute ecog: the quest for relevant epileptogenic tissue, they addressed the use of the electroencephalogram directly in the cerebral cortex to determine the extent of resection of the epileptic focus. The HSL team is largely experienced in the use of this method.
