Institutions invited to learn more about PUCRS through EducationUSA
PUCRS opened its doors to representatives of nine American universities for an event promoted by the Office for International Cooperation at Living 360º on Apr 2. The US universities were invited to come to PUCRS by the EducationUSA, which has been headquartered at the University since 2018.
The following universities made their presences felt: Ball State University, California State University San Marcos, Full Sail University, Iowa State University, Orange Coast College, Tiffin University, University of Iowa, University of Missouri and University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The event was designed to introduce them to the structure of the University and possibilities for international cooperation. The Executive Coordinator of the Office for International Cooperation, Dr Heloísa Delgado, presented the initial remarks with a presentation of the university and the movement 360o.
Delgado’s presentation was followed by Professor Angelo Brandelli’s presentation on the Institutional Project of Internationalization (PUCRS-PrInt). Brandelli represented the Office of the Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies (Propesq), and went over funding possibilities under the program.
Flávia Fiorin, who is responsible for orchestrating the Science and Technology Park of PUCRS (Tecnopuc), discussed the relationship between industry and academia that is materialized at the park as well as the internationalization initiatives. The visit is expected to foster new international cooperation projects.

Since Nov 2018, PUCRS has housed an EducationUSA office. The office is affiliated to the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs – ECA, of the US State Department. Today, there are more than 425 offices in 181 countries. PUCRS is the first university in Rio Grande do Sul to house an EducationUSA office. It provides free-of-charge orientation to the members of the local community, both individually and in groups, who are interested in higher education studies in the USA.
