The delegation included representatives from Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, Broward Health International, Community Medical Centers – Central California, Cook Children’s Health Care System, Minnesota International Medicine, UCLA Health and members of the U.S. Department of Commerce and US Consulates of Porto Alegre and São Paulo. The visitors watched the institutional presentation of HSL, in the company of the Technical and Clinical Director of HSL, Saulo Gomes Bornhorst, and had the chance to talk to some of the medical doctors of the hospital and find out more about the actions that have been done in each area in order to spot new possibilities of cooperation.
“Our Medical School is very similar to yours in terms of structure as we are on a University campus. Because of that, we are interested in increasing mobility in the area of education and making contributions to research”, says Vivian Beene, Director of International Operations of UCLA Health.
They were welcomed by the Hospital’s Adjunct Superintendent, Br. Lauri Heck, by Bornhorst, by the Assistance Practices Manager, Danieli Mota da Silva Radu, and by the Technical Director and Head Surgeon of the Obesity and Metabolic Syndrome Center (COM), Dr Cláudio Corá Mottin.
