NTNU and Sintef representatives discussed future projects involving both countries
Norwegian researchers Ivonne Andrade Herrera, Per Håkon Meland and Kinga Wasilkiewic paid a visit to PUCRS in support of the project STERNA, a collaboration involving some Brazilian universities (UFRGS, PUCRS and Universidade Federal da Bahia) and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) to develop studies in the area of Resilience Engineering. The visit of the Norwegian institution and the Applied research, technology and innovation (Sintef) served to bring the two countries closer together for future projects.
The delegation joined meetings on the research project in Human Factors in the area of Oil and Gas, jointly developed by PUCRS and by Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC). Today, NTNU and Sintef are world references in this area. In the meeting, the parties discussed the challenges posed by multidisciplinary research and shared opportunities for future investigations. Overall, six areas will be addressed in the project: Sociology, Social Work, Business Administration, Environmental Studies (PUCRS) and Knowledge Engineering and Management (UFSC).
After the reception, at the Office for International Cooperation , the visitors had the chance to visit the Main Library, the Tecnopuc, the laboratories of the Aeronautical Sciences program and the Business School as well. The meeting was attended by the following professors: Dr Herminio Santos, Dr Ines Amaro, Dr Beatriz Gershenson, Dr Denilson Sell, Dr Lucas Fogaça, Dr Felipe Dalla Vecchia, Dr Eduardo Giugliani, the Dean of the Business School, Dr Éder Henriqson, and the Dean of International Cooperation, Dr Heloísa Delgado.
