The representative got to see teaching and research structures in the University
On December 11, PUCRS welcomed the Canada’s Vice-consul, Joshua Buck, for a visit. The meeting took place in the Office for International Cooperation (ECI), and the visitor was welcomed by ECI’s executive coordinator, João Fett. Buck is based at the Canadian Consulate office in São Paulo and focuses on issues related to the management of immigration, refugee, and citizenship policies.
The meeting included a visit to Tecnopuc, where the vice-consul was welcomed by the community manager, Daniela Carrion. On that occasion, the vice-consul got to know CriaLab, the Creativity Laboratory, in addition to the Linha do Tempo (Timeline) space, which celebrates Tecnopuc’s journey of impact along the years.
In addition, Buck had the opportunity of getting to know Auper Motorcycles, a startup that is headquartered at Tecnopuc and in Canada. Founded by Brazilian entrepreneurs, the company develops electric motorcycles, combining technology innovation and sustainability.
Through academic mobility and international cooperation agreements, PUCRS maintains a strong connection with Canadian institutions. Since 2013, the University has welcomed four students from institutions like Dalhousie University and Université de Montréal. On the other hand, 73 students from PUCRS have had academic experiences in Canada, in renowned universities like Concordia University of Edmonton, Université de Montréal, and University of Regina
