Basic education teachers and College professors chaperoned by Dr. Glen Goodman
From Jun 14-24, PUCRS welcomed a delegation of Arizona State University (ASU), comprising five High School teachers, five Elementary and Middle School teachers and two College professors. They were: Ashley Lenz, Bea Lainez, Beth Anderson, Erin Succar, Ivonne Lujano, Jessica Dodge, Luis Valencia, Luke Red, Maria Green, Neritza Diaz and Sean Conway.
The visit was part of the international project that addresses the experiences of educators in Brazil over four weeks in different places in Rio Grande do Sul. The goal is to get to know the Brazilian culture, indigenous populations and the Portuguese language. Visitors were welcomed at the Office for International Cooperation at PUCRS, and joined conversation circles with other professors from Brazil.
Visitors were in the company of School of Humanities professors Dr. Marlise Meyrer and Dr. Luciano Aronne, with whom they already cooperated in graduate school activities. After the study trip, educators will collaborate to develop a Brazilian Studies Curriculum Resource Guide that will be made available to all educators in the city of Phoenix.
