Angelo Brandelli talked about same-sex marriage and sexual policies in Brazil
Dr Angelo Brandelli Costa, of the Graduate Program in Psychology and Graduate Program in Social Sciences , went to Denmark to teach at two different universities early in October. He talked about same-sex marriage and sexual policies in Brazil.
At the University of Copenhagen, he served as a guest professor of the Department of English, Germanic and Romance Studies. At Aarhus University, he talked to students in the Undergraduate and Graduate Program in Brazilian Studies, Department of Global Studies. “Exchanging information with students and researchers from other countries propels us to look at knowledge production from a different perspective which will certainly result in articles and books”, said he.
He coordinates the Prejudice, Vulnerability and Psychosocial Processes Research Group (PVPP/PUCRS), which addressed the psychology of prejudice and how discrimination affects the health and disease processes. It also addresses the interventions that are necessary for people to take on different attitudes to reduce prejudice and gain and provide access to health care. He received an invitation from the universities after he published an article about the topic, which added to the institutions’ continuous interest in the culture of Brazil. Both programs have recently opened their doors to political philosopher Djamila Ribeiro”, says he.
