British Council event discussed cooperation possibilities involving Brazil and UK
After an invitation by the British Council, the Dean of International Cooperation, Dr Heloísa Delgado, went to London to talk about the practices of internationalization of PUCRS and the possibilities for cooperation with UK institutions. Heloísa joined the discussion Challenges and Opportunities for UK Partnerships: Understanding the Brazilian Education sector under sector under CAPES-PrInt (Internationalisation) Programme, early in December.
PUCRS was the only private institution from Brazil to be in the event. The event featured a lecture on institutional internationalization data, including CAPES PrInt data, and made it possible for her to interact with British universities that develop cutting-edge research in several areas (sustainability, renewable energies and education). Some of the new partners include the University of Exeter, Durham University, Brunel University London, University of Birmingham and the network Universities UK International.
“This event has served for us to begin discussing cooperation initiatives to start Jan 2019, both with the institutions we have come into contact with and with the British Council. We’ll be connecting researchers from both countries for relevant research projects”, adds Heloísa.
The partnership between PUCRS and the British Council has fostered other projects and advanced cooperation with other institutions. In 2017, the Museum of Science and Technology of PUCRS (MCT-PUCRS), was awarded with the Newton Fund by the British Council. This fund is one of the most important British funds for research and innovation.
