Br. Manuir Mentges, Vice President of Undergraduate Studies and Continuing Education, elected in session in Peru
The Vice President of Undergraduate Studies and Continuing Education, Br. Manuir Mentges, has been elected president of the Management Board of International Marist Network of Higher Education Institutions. He represents the speakers of Portuguese, whereas the Dean of the Catholic University of Australia, Br. David Hall, the speakers of English, and the President of the Universidad Marista de Querétaro (Mexico), Br. Roberto Méndez Lopéz, the speakers of Spanish. He was chosen for a two-year mandate at the 8th Assembly of the International Marist Network of Higher Education Institutions, at the Universidad Marcelino Champagnat, in Lima, Peru, from Apr 2 – 6. PUCRS was represented by its President Br. Dr Evilázio Teixeira and by the Senior Vice President, Dr Jaderson Costa da Costa, as well as Mentges.
PUCRS to be home to the 9th Assembly in 2021
The theme Building bridges for a fragmented world, served to bring institutions together and plan future joint actions. The goal of the Assembly was to get participants to reflect upon and revisits the purpose, structure and mode of operation of the Marist Network in order to keep better track of how institutions are coping with their challenges. It has also been intended to respond to some of the challenges of life and Marist missions in different parts of the institute, and to respond to the needs of the 22nd General Chapter to keep working together as a global family. At the session, PUCRS has been selected as the home for the next edition of the Assembly, in 2021.
