Good practices include PUCRS-PrInt, welcome activities to international visitors and MTC-PUCRS activities
The annual conference of the Brazilian Association of International Education (FAUBAI), held in April, in Pará, saw the release of British Council’s new publication, entitled Universidades para o Mundo: Estratégias e avanços no caminho da internacionalização (Universities for the World: Strategies and advances to internationalization). The new issue of the journal features cases on the internationalization of higher education in Brazil, including the good practices implemented by PUCRS, as one of the highlights.
Some other highlights of PUCRS include the Institutional Project of Internationalization (PUCRS-PrInt). The project demanded that the institution mapped out internal actions on its potential to put together a plan of action and guidelines to internationalize.
The portal PUCRS Internacional is also another highlight as it has been designed to communicate the good practices of internationalization for the institution’s internal audience. It also features the welcoming efforts for international faculty, researchers and visiting professors. These efforts are headed by the Office for International Cooperation. This comes up as a positive practice to strengthen international connections.
The partnership involving the Science and Technology Museum of PUCRS (MCT-PUCRS) and Newcastle University is another example of the efforts of internationalization that appears in the publication. Over the last five years, more than 50 faculty, researchers and staff members from both institutions engaged in joint projects.
