Consular representatives were welcomed in the Noble Hall of the President’s Office and had institutional meetings
On December 21, 2023, PUCRS received a visit from the Japanese Consulate in Porto Alegre, represented by Kazuyoshi Shimizu, consul general, and Akemi Ueno, consular Cultural Advisor. The authorities were welcomed in the Noble Hall of the President’s Office by the President, Br. Evilázio Teixeira, the Executive Coordinator of the Office for International Cooperation, Carla Denise Bonan, the Dean of Institutional Relations, Solimar dos Santos Amaro, and the Director of the Institute of Geriatrics and Gerontology, Douglas Kazutoshi Sato.
The purpose of the visit was to bring the new consul general and the university closer, promoting discussions on opportunities to further cooperation in culture. With that in mind, the representatives also had a meeting in the Office for International Cooperation, with Director of the Institute of Culture, Ricardo Araújo Barberena.
Long-standing partnership
PUCRS maintains partnerships with several Japanese universities, such as Sophia University and Keio University, where students regularly carry out mobility programs. In addition, various professors have international cooperation for studies with Japanese researchers.
