Award given by the world's leading cyber security professional organization
Computer Science graduate Cassio Goldschmidt won the award for Best Senior Information Security Professional of the Americas. The award was given by (ISC)², an international nonprofit association committed to inspiring a secure cyber world.
Cassio works for US company ServiceTitan as Head of Information Security. The company develops management solutions designed specifically for home service companies. This “unicorn” company worths over UDS 1 billion. This private giant was considered one of the best companies to work in North America.
“It is a great pleasure to be selected as the Best Senior Information Security Manager for the Americas in 2019 by the largest and most prestigious cyber security certification institution. We are 140,000 members working towards the same goal all across the world”, he celebrates.
Dedication to learning
As for his academic career, he warns: whenever you are working on any academic projects, please give all of yourself. “Create your challenges no matter what you are learning. You can learn a lot at the university, but you always have to move forward”, he adds.
Graduated in 1997, Goldschmidt is grateful for the support and the things he learned at the then-Faculty of Informatics. “Even after several years after I finished my degree, I am still in contact with some professors. Therefore, whenever I return to Porto Alegre I try to find some time to visit the Campus. I am proud to see how the university has evolved and I think it can evolve further,” he adds.
