Public management and digital governance are discussed in visit from Austrian researcher

Gregor Eibl is a researcher at the University for Continuing Education Krems, the main continuing education university in Europe

Supported by the Institutional Project of Internationalization (CAPES/PrInt), the professor from the University for Continuing Education Krems, Gregor Eibl, was welcomed at the Office for International Cooperation (ECI) by researcher of the Graduate Program in Business Administration, Edimara Mezzomo Luciano, and by the coordinator of the Office, Carla Bonan, on October 25. The researcher carries out his activities in business administration and management, focusing on how public administration can make use of technology resources to overcome challenges.

The University for Continuing Education Krems, in Austria, is the main public university of continuing education in Europe, focusing on professional training. With a transdisciplinary approach that brings together research and practical application to tackle social challenges, the university has 8 thousand students and over 30 thousand alumni.

PUCRS and the University for Continuing Education Krems have a long-standing relationship, with a recently-signed MOU, formalizing the partnership. During recent years, various institution projects have benefitted from this international partnership, with actions of researcher and student mobility funded by the CAPES/PrInt Program, coordinated by PUCRS. These mobility actions include the visits from researcher Thomas Josef Lampoltshammer and from professor at the Austrian university and PhD through PUCRS’s Graduate Program in Business Administration, Gabriela Pereira, who came to Brazil for meetings, lectures and prospecting cooperation opportunities.

Internacional lecture

Researcher at the Austrian university’s Center for Electronic Governance, Eibl will give the lecture titled “Demystifying Artificial Intelligence: An introduction to the fundamentals, training, and key concepts of deep learning”. This activity will take place on October 31, at 6:30 p.m., in room 801.1 of Building 50, and does not require prior registration.
