PUCRS’ School of Engineering’s  Feng Eco Racing project, was presented in Buenos Aires, from Sept 20 – 22. The invitation came from Volkswagen Group Argentina and Shell. Student Anderson De Paulo, of the Graduate Program in Engineering and Materials Technology,  represented the University at an event sponsored by Instituto Dr. Ferdinand Porsche, on the Campus of Universidad Tecnológica Nacional. He talked about research on energy efficiency vehicles using vegetable oil fuel, among other initiatives.

De Paulo sees this invitation as a response to “the excellent work done by the Feng EcoRacing team. We’ve become a reference in research and development of energy efficiency vehicles. This event served to connect us to prospective partners and give us a head start in the negotiations as we’re intent of promoting technology exchanges and collaboration in future projects”, says he.

A history of achievements

The Feng Eco Racing team, which features undergraduate and graduate students of PUCRS, alumni and professors, has designed their own prototype of biofuel vehicle which has been awarded both in Brazil and overseas. In November 2016, it earned the top position in the category Ethanol at the Shell Eco-marathon Brasil, in São Paulo. In 2017, it took the #1 position in the Shell Eco-marathon Americas, in Detroit, USA.

The Instituto Dr. Ferdinand Porsche

Instituto Dr. Ferdinand Porsche was created to foster the production of knowledge on the Car Industry in Argentina, by promoting the academic training of Human Resources, applied research (P&D) and knowledge transfer, as it is a reference point for the cooperative actions between Volkswagen, UTN and other institutions.
