Organized by Coimbra Group, mission features visits to universities and cultural centers

The President of PUCRS, Br. Evilázio Teixeira, will be joining a mission for presidents of Brazilian universities in China up to May 13. Organized by the Coimbra Group of Brazilian Universities (GCUB), the mission will feature visits to Chinese universities, such as Hebei University of Engineering, and North China Electric Power, among others, as well as to museums and cultural centers such as the Forbidden City, the Great Wall and the Matteo Ricci (Zhalan) cemetery. On May 10, the group will attend the Seminário sobre Educação Brasil-China, at the Institute of Latin American Studies, in Beijing. Br. Teixeira is the only president on universities from the State of Rio Grande do Sul joining the Mission. According to him, the 21st century will see the consolidation of China, a fascinating country. “The presence of PUCRS in the mission Brazil-China 2017 corroborates with the growing importance of China in the educational scenario, as well as with the integration of the university with such a globalized world we are living now”.
