Augusto Jobim do Amaral went to Spain on PUCRS-PrInt
Law School Professor, Dr Augusto Jobim do Amaral, went to Universidad de Sevilla, in Spain, on an Institutional Project of Internationalization (PUCRS-PrInt) grant. The mission abroad was intended to strengthen the ties with the Spanish institution, as well as with the Campus of international excellence Andalucía Tech. Amaral is working on the cooperation project The Hidden Matrix of Violence in Modern Times: Crisis of Otherness, Morale and Ethics, coordinated by Professor Ruth Gauer.
The professor’s visit aimed at prospecting and carrying out joint research projects, and officiating a double degree for student Eduardo Baldissera Carvalho Salles, from the Graduate Program in Criminal Sciences. The general agreement between the two institutions, and the agreements between the graduate programs of the two institutions, have been renewed.
He was welcomed by Professor Jesús Sabariego, who came to PUCRS in Oct 2019 on PUCRS-PrInt. Amaral also worked on the book Algoritarismos, which has resulted from joint research carried out among the professors’ research groups.
At the Spanish institution, Amaral met with Francisco Sierra Caballero, Andalucía Tech’s project coordinator, to talk about cooperation projects between PUCRS and the universities that are embraced by the consortium (Universidad de Málaga, Universidad de Sevilla and Universidad de Granada). At the meeting, a Letter of Intent for a Certificate program in Human Rights was signed by Andalucía Tech to be developed jointly with PUCRS.
The Law School professor also met with the Head of the General Office of International Projects at Universidad de Sevilla, Melania Rivers Rodriguez, to discuss bilateral projects involving the Universities. During his visit abroad, Amaral attended the International Congress on Social Movements and ICT and the XI International Congress ULEPICC (Latin American Union of Political Economy of Information, Communication and Culture).
