PUCRS and Ramon Llull University, from Barcelona, signed a cooperation agreement in Spain on Wednesday, Nov 16, aiming to promote smart cities.
The agreement was signed between the Smart City Innovation Center Huawei – PUCRS and the Center of Internet of Things of the Spanish University. The agreement aims at combining efforts to encourage cooperation actions, technological and scientific exchanges as well as the development of human resources in the areas of education, research and entrepreneurship with an eye to intelligent and human cities.
José Fortunati, Mayor of Porto Alegre, Gabriela Ferreira, Dean of Innovation and Development of PUCRS, Fabiano Hessel, Coordinator of Smart City Innovation Center Huawei – PUCRS, and Josep Piqué, Coordinator of the Spanish University, were present in the ceremony.
From now on, the two Innovation Centers will be acting as global players in the promotion of mutual projects, in the identification of funding sources for research and joint promotion of partnerships with companies, in the establishment of new companies with products developed from technologies created by research groups and other mechanisms of connection between entrepreneurs and cities.
