Representatives discussed the teaching of German at the University

The Consul General for Germany in Porto Alegre, Thomas Schmitt, the Consul General for Recife, Maria Könning, and a German delegation visited PUCRS to learn more about the strategies and the activities developed at the Center for European and German Studies (CDEA), and to discuss the teaching of German at the University. The authorities were welcomed at the Great Hall by the President Br. Dr Evilázio Teixeira, and by the Senior Vice President, Dr Jaderson Costa da Costa, on Oct 16.
They came to Porto Alegre for a meetign of the Netzwerk Deutsch, a network of institutions that advance strategies for the teaching of German in Brazil. During the visit to PUCRS, the diplomats visited the CDEA and the President’s Office.
The ceremony was also attended by Br Manuir Mentges, Vice President of Undergraduate Studies and Continued Education; Dr Carla Bonan, Vice President of Research and Graduate Studies; the Dean of the School of Humanities Vice Director of CDEA, Dr Draiton Gonzaga de Souza as well as representatives of the Embassy of Germany in Brasília, of the Consulate General in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Goethe-Institut Brasilien and DAAD.
