School of Humanities faculty serves as visiting professor in Argentina
School of Humanities professor, Dr Monica de La Fare, has been serving as a visiting professor at the Universidad Nacional de La Plata (UNLP), Argentina, since October, on PUCRS-PrInt. She has been collaborating with the institution mostly in the area of Education. Monica works under the cooperation project Human development: knowledges and practices for a world in motion, under the priority area World in Motion: Individuals and Society, which is coordinated by Professor Dr Alexandre Guilherme.
In Argentina, Monica is being advised by Dr Laura Rovelli, from UNLP, with whom she has a consolidated international partnership. The two of them have presented joint articles in international events. The articles address the expansion doctoral programs and professional insertion of PhDs in Humanities and Social Sciences. In addition, a book to be published by Edipucrs in partnership with Edulp is expected to come out in 2020.
De la Fare also presented PUCRS-PrInt opportunities. A number of faculty members of the Argentinean institution aroused interest in the next calls for Visiting Professor and Young Talent categories. Professors Laura Rovelli, Myriam Southwell, and Emilia Di Piero are expected to come to PUCRS next year.
Monica met with the Secretary of Graduate Programs of UNLP’s Faculty of Humanities and Educational Sciences, Fabio Espipto, to advance the discussions on double degrees involving both institutions. “We are still studying this possibility and hope to spot potential candidates for this interesting challenge that will allow us to further consolidate our cooperation. The general agreement was signed earlier this year, ” Monica comments.
Student co-advising, participation in events and joint research are on her schedule until the end of November, when she will be resuming her activities at PUCRS.
