Gianina Venturin studies new methods at University of Groningen
The coordinator of the Center for Pre-Clinical Research of the Brain Institute of RS, Gianina Venturin, went to Amsterdam, the Netherlands, earlier in March to spend a month at the University of Groningen. She will be working with Spanish researcher David Vallez Garcia, one of the greatest exponents in imaging analysis. The idea is to study new analysis methodologies and apply them in her work at BraIns.
The program has been promoted by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), based in Austria. The agency’s main mission is to promote the use of atomic energy in a peaceful manner, using nuclear medicine, PET/CT and the development of new radiopharmaceuticals, by awarding grants for projects from all over the world. This project will foster the development of new carbon-11 marked radiopharmaceuticals, as Gianina was awarded with an AIEA grant by PUCRS/BraIns, where she works. PUCRS is one of the Brazilian institutions that taken part in joined the agency’s projects.
“I’m excited, I think it’s going to be a very productive experience since the University of Groningen is a reference in imaging analysis. I hope to get to learn a lot so that I can apply the knowledge here”, Gianina says.
