Guilherme Schoeninger Vieira enrolled in UNIGOU Academic Internships

The program UNIGOU Academic Internships allows Brazilians to develop academic and scientific activities in cooperation with researchers from partner institutions in Czechia. Coordinated by the Institute of Czech-Brazilian Academic Cooperation, with the support of the Embassy of Czechia, in Brasília, the Embassy of Brazil in Prague and the Ministry of Education of Czechia. In its last edition, it opened its doors to PUCRS’ Law School student Guilherme Schoeninger Vieira.
Vieira found out about the opportunity on the Academic Mobility social networks and had the chance to learn more about research methods. The researchers of the Institute of Czech-Brazilian Academic Cooperation shared with Brazilian students a variety of insights, ranging from basic notions of scientific research, while in Czechia and the EU, to specific recommendations on academic writing and publications.
During the three months of online internship, the student attended lectures and did practicum work, read a variety of books and articles and put in practice the things he learned in his readings. The entire program was delivered in English and students were able to submit an expanded abstract to be published by the Institute of Czech-Brazilian Academic Cooperation.
The activities of the UNIGOU Program were taught by the director of the Czech-Brazilian Institute for Academic Cooperation, Petr Zelensky, who is also a researcher at the Czech Technical University, in Prague.
Guilherme, as a Law School student, got into the program as an undergraduate researcher. While still at PUCRS, the student attended scientific writing workshops promoted by the Undergraduate Research Program, and the training sessions offered by the Main Library. He ultimately presented the findings of his studies in the Undergraduate Research Fairs.
The way he sees it, everything he learned throughout his academic career is helping him move forward in undergraduate research activities and in the activities he developed as a student in the Graduate Program in Law at PUCRS.
“Here’s a message to my fellow students at PUCRS: there are countless other opportunities for our academic development. And if that is what you want, don’t think twice! You should look them up online, with our professors, or go to the Office for International Cooperation”, Guilherme suggests.
