Lima, Peru, will be home to the 8th Assembly of the International Marist Network of Higher Education Institutions, at the Universidad Marcelino Champagnat, in the week from Apr 1 – 6. PUCRS will be represented by its President Br. Dr Evilázio Teixeira, the Senior Vice President Dr Jaderson Costa da Costa, and the Vice President of Undergraduate Studies and Continuing Education Br. Manuir Mentges. The theme Building bridges in a fragmented world will serve to bring the participants together and think up joint actions involving the institutions as well as to strengthen the Marist actions and the development of higher education in the five continents. The activity will also be attended by the general head of the Marist Institute, Br Ernesto Sánchez, and by the vicar general, Br. Luis Carlos Gutiérrez Blanco.
In Br. Evilázio’s view, the theme of the event embodies the purpose of the institutions being together. “The theme of the Assembly shows that we are better together. We need to keep working together, especially in research projects, academic mobility and teacher training”, the President says.
