University welcomes 27 exchange students from 9 countries
On February 21 and 22, 27 new international students coming to PUCRS will participate in the Orientation Seminar. Activities include lectures with academic information, guided tours on Campus, Porto Alegre city tour, integration with university buddies, Portuguese language placement test, and welcome cocktail offered by the Office for International Cooperation.
The students represent 9 countries: Germany, Canada, Chile, South Korea, Spain, Mexico, Portugal, United Kingdom and Sweden. They will take classes in the first semester of 2019 in all eight PUCRS schools. The University also welcomes back 9 international students who were at PUCRS in 2018 and remain for another semester.

Free Portuguese course for academic mobility students
International students will also be taking a Portuguese language program during the week that precedes the beginning of the academic semester, from Feb 7-20. It features language and cultural insights as well as integration activities to introduce students to the Main Campus. The program consists of 10 classes and is at no charge.
