PUCRS and University of Osnabrück award first joint doctoral degree

Uriel Möller has earned the degree from the Graduate Program in Criminal Sciences and German university

Uriel Möller German student Uriel Möller has become the first student to earn the Doctoral degree under the Joint Doctoral Degree Program between PUCRS’ Graduate Program in Criminal Sciences and the University of Osnabrück (Germany). This is such an innovative program in both countries and has emerged out of the international cooperation and excellence in research, out of which the title of Doctor is granted by both institutions simultaneously.

Möller, who was advised by professors Arndt Sinn, in Germany, and Fabio D’Avila, in Brazil, worked on the limits of prediction of the applicability of criminal law to consumer relations, and wrote a dissertation entitled “Definition und Grenzen der Vorverlagerung”.

In addition to the advisors, the following professors served as members of the committee: Helena Lobo da Costa (USP), Giovani Saavedra (PUCRS) and Thomas Rotsch (University of Giessen, Germany). The dissertation was defended on Aug 30, in German, at the University of Osnabrück.
